Did you know that since March 2016, WordPress has been reportedly powering 26.4% of the web, and this is continually rising and it is still the most used CMS, with 59.4% market share?

In my opinion, WordPress is the best website builder on the market. My Warren-Knight.com website, and my ThinkDigitalFirst.com website have both been built inside of WordPress.

You have access to over 44,200 different website plugins for WordPress so you will never be left without a solution to your problem. I can’t recommend WordPress enough as a website builder. It has an intuitive interface and with its endless selection of plugins, and design options, you will be able to create a professional looking website no matter what your budget may be.

The biggest problem is that there are over 44,200 website plugins for WordPress, meaning that there is so many options, and you might feel overwhelmed. I am going to share with you 7 of the best website plugins for WordPress.

1. OptinMonster

OptinMonster has been one of the best leader generators for me throughout 2017. Whilst I am new to this tool, the tool is not new to me. OptinMonster is a Powerful lead generation software that converts abandoning visitors into subscribers with dynamic marketing tools through pop-ups.

I have set up various pop-ups to appear on my websites at different moments. I have one which is set up to appear within 30 seconds of someone being on my website, and I also have a different pop-up which will show up with someone is about to exit my site, and I have integrated the OptinMonster WordPress plugin so that I can easily manage this from my website.

2. Social Warfare

Social Warfare was created by a team of content creators, designers and developers that understand Social Media, which is what makes this one of the best website plugins for WordPress.

Having social sharing icons on your website is so important, but it is also important to have the look as visually engaging, and as easy-to-use as possible, which is why Social Warfare is a great choice.

3. Thrive

Thrive is a conversion-focused wordpress website plugin that I would highly suggest. If you want to create engaging product/landing pages on your website that encourage engagement, conversion and sales, Thrive is your best bet. You have complete control from the ground up, and can completely customise any of their already existing templates.

4. WooCommerce

WooCommerce is one of my most valuable website plugins for WordPress and is an open source eCommerce plugin. This tool is very easy to install into your WordPress website, and allows you to take payments almost instantly. In May 2015 WooCommerce was acquired by Automattic; operator of WordPress.com. If WordPress believes in the ability of this plugin, then so do I.

5. Google XML Sitemaps

The first SEO-based plugin on this list is Google XML Sitemaps. This will help search engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo to index your website with an XML sitemap.

Having a sitemap enables search engine bots to see the complete structure of your website, and find information that will better index your website, and give you audience a better chance of finding your website through a search engine based on your keywords.

6. Jetpack

Created by WordPress, JetPack is one of my recommendations for website plugins for WordPress. If you want to take care of your website security, performance, growth, image optimisation, appearance and so much more, take a look at Jetpack.

7. Yoast

And finally, Yoast is one of the best website plugins for WordPress that allows you to optimise every web page and blog post on your website. It will rate your SEO on a traffic light system (red, orange and green), and give you a breakdown of what you can do to improve the SEO on each page of your website. I have been using Yoast as a guide to see that my keywords are where they should be on a blog, as well as making sure that all other key SEO metrics are being utilised.
